There needs to be a gradual improvement in physical fitness.
4) There was poor digestion of the food eaten so there was little or no energy from it.
5) There are sluggish and congested liver problems with weak adrenals. The gall bladder has commonly been removed by this time as well.
6) Metabolism is exhausted; the individual has fibromyalgia.
7) There are too many toxins clogging metabolism.
8) Normal blood-sugar regulation is broken, meaning the individual is likely diabetic. |
| In a sense, implementing the Five Rules is like building up physical fitness relating to eating. The rules apply to anyone, some people may not be quite fit enough to immediately employ them. Nevertheless, moving in the direction of the Five Rules is a path in a better direction. Modifications can be made to help individuals get started, with the eventual goal of implementing all of the rules.
The specific effects of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates will be discussed in detail in the various sections relating to each of the Five Rules. |
| Stress-induced weight loss is debilitating to heath due to the loss of physical fitness; the physical feeling of wear and tear is obvious.
STRESS EATING
Stress causes a rise in blood sugar; this is a hyperglycemic state. This means there is a higher than normal amount of blood sugar so that a person can either run away or go into battle. Genetically, this was for fight or flight purposes. This hyperglycemic response activates many subconscious behavior patterns associated with survival.
These patterns are not necessarily rational. Hyperglycemia drives violent and aggressive behavior. |

This is a type of circulatory energy fitness, similar to the idea of muscle physical fitness. Proper pulsing between leptin and adrenaline maintains a state of readiness, so that if emergency energy systems need to be rapidly deployed, they are available.
Summary
Energy is the currency of life and metabolism. Efficiently converting food to energy is essential for good health. Without this efficiency, a person tends to overeat in an effort to gain energy from food, leading to eventual obesity and poor health.
Our bodies use hormones to manage energy. |
| No; the inability to follow the Five Rules reflects a poor level of metabolic physical fitness. Just as most people would agree that going for a three-mile jog is good exercise, many people are hard pressed to run even a block or two. Does that mean jogging is bad?
Not everyone is fit enough to follow the Five Rules at first. They may need to build up to them. Some people find it hard to believe they could ever go five to six hours without eating, but a few days of willpower will get them out of the seemingly desperate clutches of faulty leptin-driven cravings and into metabolic gear. |
| White adipose tissue that is in poor physical fitness, along with progressive deterioration of leptin function, inevitably leads to the early onset of the diseases of aging. This includes all forms of cognitive decline, diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.
Leptin-related problems are now recognized as a primary cause of the number-one killer in America, cardiovascular disease. Heart disease and stroke account for forty percent of all deaths each year. The real problem is that Americans are falling into risk patterns for developing cardiovascular disease at earlier ages. |
| Exercise is a way to enhance the production of ATE physical fitness means the body has been conditioned to produce ATP at a level of vitality. Fit individuals have more ATE at rest (well-charged batteries) and readily produce more ATE as needed (more efficient engines). Energy begets energy. It is easy to understand why couch potatoes and people in sedentary work gain weight, are fatigued, and/or struggle with mood.
Feople who are generally low on ATE don't have the energy to get going or the motivation to do much, like a car battery that struggles to start. |

Cardiovascular exercise
And lastly, I have to mention the importance of cardiovascular exercise and physical fitness. Your level of physical activity has a strong influence on your cholesterol levels. In a simple sense, you could say that cardiovascular exercise converts LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) into HDL cholesterol, which is the good cholesterol. I know that's a simplification, but the point is still valid. When you exercise on a regular basis, you will lower your LDL levels and raise your HDL levels. |

PREPARING FOR TRANSITION
How smoothly a woman handles transition depends on her overall level of physical fitness, her pre-existing body fat when entering her forties, her stress level, and her hormonal history.
In general, estrogen levels rise during her forties and leptin levels go up in response. If she is already leptin resistant and overweight, it is likely there will be a significant struggle with weight during this time. |

When I was in grade school, we had something called the Presidential physical fitness Program. As I understand it, that program no longer exists, but it was an excellent program. It tested each grade school child in a few basic areas, such as doing pull-ups, situps and running, and it awarded them badges for various levels of physical achievement. One of the program's mottos, as I remember from the badges I earned, was: "A sound body, a sound mind."
That program was right on the mark. Being physically fit is more than just physical. It also delivers benefits to your mind. |

Sanson ryugaku (which sends teenagers from the big cities to rural schools for a taste of life in the countryside), such opportunities clearly contribute to physical fitness, self-confidence and problem-solving abilities - what the Japanese call 'power for living' (ikiru chikara). But going away from home for prolonged visits isn't an option for the under-tens, who need the security of family contact and familiar haunts - they need green and grassy places close to home. |

It is characterized by a consistent, clear, high level of energy; emotional balance; a sharp mind; a desire to maintain physical fitness; and a direct awareness of what suits our bodies, what enhances our health, and what our needs are in any given moment. This state of health includes resilience to infectious diseases and protection from the major killer diseases such as heart disease and cancer. As a result, the aging process is slowed down and we can live a long and healthy life. |

Patients are encouraged to increase physical fitness, improve nutrition (including a reduction in saturated fats), abstain from smoking, and protect their eyes from excessive light. Dietary supplementation of trace elements, antioxidants, and vitamins is recommended for improving overall metabolic and vascular functioning. Early screening and patient education offer the most hope for reducing the debilitating effects of the disease. |
| In oldet Americans who are not physically fit and who do not exercise regularly, regular physical exercise can increase the body's metabolism and make it more efficient in burning calories. physical fitness also makes respiration more efficient. Evidence suggests strongly that physically fit people live 2-3 years longer and have a better quality of life than sedentary individuals. Anytime is the best time for a person of any age to start exercising. Exercise is movement: dancing, walking, lifting a weight, and using the body. |
| Conversely, physical fitness increases cellulat glucose responsiveness and decreases the amount of insulin secreted after a carbohydrate load (Challem et al. 2000). Exercise makes the vasculature less prone to damage when insulin levels are unstable. The vulnerabilities associated with Syndrome X, that is, diabetes, hypertension, hypertriglyceridemia, and suppressed HDL levels are often modifiable by exercise-induced weight loss.
If cardiovascular disease has manifested, a monitored exercise program can assist in recovery. |
| Exercise
With the help of a physical therapist or other health care professional, exercises can be designed for the person with MFS, which will avoid causing undue stress and pain to sensitive trigger points while improving physical fitness. In addition to promoting overall fitness, physical activity assists in maintaining flexibility and building muscle strength, helping to protect joints. Walking, bicycling, swimming, and some types of weight-bearing exercises are good examples of physical activity that may be appropriate. |

BONNIE PRUDDEN MYOTHERAPY™
Bonnie Prudden is a leading authority on physical fitness and exercise therapy. Her research helped create the President's Council on physical fitness and Sports in the 1950s. From her experience, she developed a technique for relieving pain that is simple enough to be taught to a child.
Prudden's work is based on the application of manual pressure to sensitive spots known as "trigger points." Her work grew out of the pioneering medical discipline called trigger point injection therapy, developed by Janet Travell, M.D. |

One more example is a quote from Walt Riker, Vice-President of Social Responsibility & Communications at McDonald's:
McDonald's has sponsored physical fitness programs and nutrition education for decades. McDonald's takes nutrition very seriously.23
Once again the behavior of the industry can be interpreted in different ways. The commitment to health may be genuine, or it could be a clever way to preempt critics by claiming to have common goals and insisting on involvement in government decisions about nutrition. |

We believe that physical fitness has five components: cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, balance and agility, flexibility, and body composition. Healthy levels of these components can be achieved through a wide variety of activities. It is up to you to find things you like and experiment with different types of exercise.
Here are some key tips:
Begin a habit of regular aerobic or cardiovascular exercise
If you're a beginner, try walking—even just five minutes a day is a good start. |

Thus we have decided that obesity can't be controlled because it is largely inbred at the same time that childhood obesity has skyrocketed, even as our society is ostensibly undergoing a physical fitness craze. Supposedly, Americans are more concerned with fitness than ever before; yet our kids are fatter than ever before (as well as frequently using drugs and alcohol). We are unable to get a handle on physical fitness for our society as a whole, and our health messages seem not to be reaching most of those with the worst health behaviors. |

There are a number of reasons why physical activity would be linked with better academic performance. Exercise can decrease stress and anxiety and increase self-esteem in adolescents. Active children are less likely to smoke or use drugs and are more likely to behave well and stay in school. |

PHYSICAL WELLNESS
If you could bottle the benefits of exercise and put them into a pill, the line of people to buy that magic potion would be endless. When you look at the people best equipped to handle the hurdles of life, the fittest have the most resilience.

Not only do we need the best food for our bodies to function, our bodies need to be efficient processors of that fuel. |
| Flexibility is another key component of overall physical fitness. It is sometimes referred to as range of motion, the movement around your joints and the connecting muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones.
For many people, flexibility begins to decline in their late twenties or early thirties, and continues to decline with increasing age. The best way to maintain flexibility is to work at it consistently and increase your stretching time as you get older. Muscle tightness and joint stiffness are natural consequences of inactivity. |

Fresh raw egg yolk has long been known to enhance or rejuvenate sexual energies required for having sex, but more importantly for creative activity in general and for physical fitness. Very fresh raw, beaten egg white has germicidal properties.
The cell walls of lymphocytes (white blood cells) become more rigid with aging, AIDS, and viral infections, mainly due to increased cholesterol levels in cell walls. Lipids extracted from raw egg yolk have been reported to normalize rigid cell walls and fully restore immune functions. |

Appropriate activity improves mood and outlook, decreases pain, increases flexibility, improves heart health and blood flow, helps reduce or maintain weight, and promotes general physical fitness. However, determining the amount and form of exercise to recommend for a patient with osteoarthritis will depend on which joints are involved, how stable they are, and whether the patient has undergone a joint replacement procedure. The specifics will vary from individual to individual, so the patient should seek advice from a doctor or physical therapist.
